“Dear graduates, distinguished faculty members, and Utel community, warm greetings from the ASEAN Association of Open Universities, AAU. It is a true pleasure and honor to join you, even virtually, in celebrating this meaningful milestone in your life. On behalf of AAU, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates of Utel.
Today marks not just the completion of your academic journey, but also the beginning of a new chapter. One that reflects the true essence of open and distant education or ODE. First, open and distant education plays a vital role in expanding access to quality higher education.
It opens doors for individuals who may not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue their studies, whether due to geography, work, family responsibilities, or other life circumstances. By studying at Utel, each of you has shown that learning can transcend boundaries and that determination can overcome limitations.
Second, open and distant education is about contributing to the development of human capital through flexible and innovative learning. You have gained not only knowledge, but also the skills and mindset that will empower you to grow personally and professionally. You are now equipped to become valuable contributors to your communities, to your industries and to the broader development of society.
And third one, open and distant education is the driving force in enhancing national competitiveness by producing graduates like you, critical thinkers, innovators, and lifelong learners. Institutions like Utel have strengthened the foundation of a nation’s progress in this rapidly changing global landscape.
So to all of Utel graduates, take pride in your achievement. You represent the success of open and distant education and the promise of a brighter, more inclusive future. May you continue to learn, to lead, and to inspire others along the way. Congratulations once again, and all the best for your future involvement”.
