Un producto tiene etapas de gestaci\u00f3n (planeaci\u00f3n), nacimiento (introducci\u00f3n en el mercado), adolescencia (crecimiento), madurez (consolidaci\u00f3n) y finalmente vejez (decadencia).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Este es un recurso de la mercadotecnia para identificar en qu\u00e9 etapa se encuentran los productos, donde a diferencia del ciclo vital ordinario, los gestores de mercadeo pueden retrasar o eliminar la \u00faltima estancia, es decir la decadencia, la menos esperada para una empresa, aunque en ocasiones es necesario para resurgir con un producto m\u00e1s innovador.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Los motivos por los que un producto es exitoso o provechoso en ventas var\u00edan con los a\u00f1os, las ventas, precio, distribuci\u00f3n y promoci\u00f3n (variables del \u00abmarketing mix\u00bb), deben ce\u00f1irse a las circunstancias del mercado o bien, a la fase del ciclo en el que se encuentran con la finalidad de mantener al producto en un lugar ideal.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ante este escenario los mercad\u00f3logos tienen m\u00faltiples opciones, destacando las siguientes: excluir el producto, \u00a0interrumpir paulatinamente su producci\u00f3n o vivificarlo a trav\u00e9s de acciones encaminadas a su posicionamiento en el mercado; para cada fase existen alternativas, por lo cual es necesario estar atento mediante sistemas estad\u00edsticos para ver el estado de nuestro producto.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">El equipo de mercadotecnia de las corporaciones puede deliberar si un producto es rentable o no, si se pueden emprender planes para revitalizarlo o descontinuar su producci\u00f3n; en los inversionistas recae la decisi\u00f3n final ya que ellos aportan el capital, \u00a0y este proceso obviamente depende en gran medida del nivel de ventas y de la percepci\u00f3n \u00a0del consumidor.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Es importante tener en cuenta los h\u00e1bitos de consumo de las nuevas generaciones, como se mencion\u00f3 anteriormente, los tiempos cambiaron, de este modo se modifican constantemente las estrategias de publicidad, la difusi\u00f3n del producto, su dise\u00f1o, etc. Vale la pena actualizarse en t\u00e9cnicas de mercadeo y estar a la vanguardia, ya que las p\u00e9rdidas en las empresas son millonarias, adquieren preponderancia cuando deben hacer recortes de personal y se afecta la
