Antes que nada, el t\u00e9rmino viene de una localidad h\u00fangara del Siglo XV llamada <em>Kocs<\/em>, conocida por elaborar los mejores carruajes de la \u00e9poca. Esto podr\u00eda entenderse como una met\u00e1fora en la que el coach es quien \u201clleva\u201d a la persona hacia cierta direcci\u00f3n. Hoy en d\u00eda el t\u00e9rmino se asocia m\u00e1s con la noci\u00f3n de entrenador, aunque el trabajo de un <strong>coach profesional<\/strong> va mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de eso.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El principal objetivo del Coaching es mejorar el desempe\u00f1o de las personas en cualquier \u00e1rea. Para lograrlo, como explica la psic\u00f3loga Georgette Bermejo, esta disciplina se basa en tres pilares: la autoconciencia, la autocreencia y la responsabilidad. As\u00ed, es trabajo de los coaches ayudar a que cada persona desarrolle cada uno de estos tres pilares, los cuales son b\u00e1sicos para que los sujetos puedan mejorar su situaci\u00f3n. Generalmente esta tarea implica que un coach desarrolle habilidades como la escucha activa, la capacidad de generar preguntas \u201cpoderosas\u201d hacia la persona o cliente, y finalmente, empoderarla.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aunque hay muchos tipos de coaches, podr\u00edan reconocerse dos vertientes principales: el coach de vida o personal, y el coach empresarial. Sin embargo, esta disciplina es muy flexible y puede aplicarse en cualquier \u00e1mbito de la sociedad. Por ello, se trata de un campo conformado por especialistas formados en \u00e1reas muy diversas, como el Deporte, la Filosof\u00eda, la Psicolog\u00eda, el Desarrollo Humano, los Negocios, entre otros.
